DARTMOUTH CANCER SCHOLARS

In its second year, Dartmouth Cancer Scholars is a special program put on by the Norris Cotton Cancer Center for juniors and seniors who want to learn more about the broad scope of careers in cancer. The Cancer Center, which is located at DHMC, is just one of 40 in the U.S. designated as a comprehensive cancer center, meaning it covers all aspects of cancer from basic science to population science to treatment.

We meet each Monday from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Cancer Center. The free Advance Transit Bus system makes getting to and from the Cancer Center simple and quick. It is expected that members will attend all meetings. The first meeting is Monday April 8.

Our meeting topics this term will include compassionate care, absolute vs. relative risk for cancer, the career of an investigator in cancer research, tobacco and cancer risk behavior as influenced by mass media, and nanotechnology/animal research. Also slotted in are times for peer-to-peer discussion of readings and sharing of research experiences.

If you are interested in joining the Dartmouth Cancer Scholars please fill out the application below and EMAIL YOUR APPLICATIONS TO us: [log in to unmask] by April 5. Thanks!
