We are currently accepting applications for the student leaders of the 2016 Orientation Team!  In this role, you have the great opportunity and responsibility of welcoming and supporting over a thousand first-year students in their first and formative weeks at Dartmouth.  This position is an opportunity to represent Dartmouth and share your experiences to best support the newest members of our community. You will gain valuable experience planning and executing programs and events for the '20s, managing a team of your peers - and we think you'll have a great time doing it! ORIENTATION TEAM LEADER



The Orientation Team Leader(s) work closely with the Collis Center staff to select and train the Orientation Team (O-Team), plan and execute Pre-Orientation events, support institutional Orientation programs, and manage their peers on the O-Team.



Orientation Team Leader(s) meet regularly with Collis staff beginning in the spring term and throughout the summer to recruit & select the O-Team, plan O-Team training, and plan a variety of appropriate Pre-Orientation programs.  Orientation Team Leaders will communicate and as appropriate collaborate with Trips Directors, Collis and Student Life staff, and other Pre-Orientation programs (FYSEP, ISO, NAO) to ensure clear communication, minimize conflict or confusion for incoming first-years and facilitate a smooth transition to Dartmouth for the Class of 2020.



Compensation

Orientation Team Leader(s) will receive a $1000 stipend for their service.



Hours

Commitment is approximately 5 hours/week during the summer term. During the period of Pre-Orientation & Orientation, Orientation Team Leaders are expected to have focus on this role as their sole commitment and obligation.  Hours during this period vary, but often include full days, evenings, and weekend time.



Expectations

ˇ       Applicants must be "on"/in Hanover for 16X term

ˇ       Applicants must be "on"/in Hanover for Pre-Orientation/Orientation period (Aug. 30-Sept. 12)

ˇ       Applicants must uphold a substance-free expectation for the period of Pre-Orientation/Orientation
