Greetings, friends!
For ToT tonight, we'll be talking about our gendered conceptions of/images of God.
Does having a God who is referred to as "Lord" and "Father" make Christianity inherently misogynistic?
Can a masculinized God be empowering for women?
Do we gain anything by seeing God as a Mother? Do we lose anything?
Is there any advantage to using gendered language for God?
Do you pray to God as Mother, Father, or something else?
Does the gendered language of classical Christian Scripture and prayer bother you? Is it a barrier to your personal piety? Does it enhance it?
We'll discuss these and other relevant topics tonight at 9pm at the Canoe Club over drinks and garlic fries!
Please join us, and bring friends!
Peace,
Ethan Falleur, '16
