The Global Health Initiative is pleased to present the Great Issues Lecture:

Dr. Thomas Pogge, “Smart international reform action: The Health Impact Fund”

TODAY, 4:30 pm, Haldeman 041

Leitner Professor of Philosophy and International Affairs at Yale
Thomas Pogge is a founder of the Health Impact Fund (http://www.yale.edu/macmillan/igh/) which proposes a new way of paying for pharmaceutical innovation. The HIF would incentivize the development and delivery of new medicines by paying for performance and making life-saving medicines accessible to the poorest people in the world. Dr. Pogge’s book “World Poverty and Human Rights” has been cited as "one of the most intellectually rigorous and empirically well-informed works of political philosophy yet written on world poverty.” Dr. Pogge is a sought after speaker and innovative thinker. I hope you will make the time to hear his thoughts on addressing these pressing problems.
