We hope you’ll consider participating in the one-day “Dartmouth on Purpose: live and lead with meaning” conference on

Sunday, May 5, 2013, from 9:00am to 4:00pm

at the Hanover Inn

Some of life's big questions include: What is my purpose? How do I make meaning of my life? These questions will be addressed in a variety of ways, including through keynote and closing speakers; alumni "Stories of Purpose" panels; dialogue with faculty, administrators, and students; mindful workshops such as quigong guided meditation, intentional journaling, and mindful eating; "DOP Talks" (short, TED talk-like presentations) on innovative ways in which we can integrate purpose and meaning into our own lives and into the ways in which we interact and connect with others and our communities.

A number of students and administrators have come together over the last few terms to create an all-day event for all members of the Dartmouth community (students, faculty, and staff). We have more than thirty confirmed alumni and community speakers; their biographies will be posted on this website as they are made available.

Our goals for you as a conference attendee are:

1. To explore your internal motivations/purpose and to experience a mindful practice during the conference

2.To learn how others find purpose in leading and living their lives

3.To explore how living purposefully will impact their larger communities
