This Friday, Christian Impact is hosting Kevin Belmonte, historical consultant to the movie Amazing Grace and author of the award-winning William Wilberforce: Hero for Humanity. The abolitionist William Wilberforce is remembered as one of the greatest social reformers of all time. His belief in the Gospel of Christ motivated him to do what many thought was impossible: abolish the British slave trade. What are the implications of his legacy today? In a world filled with so much suffering and systemic injustice, how can the world be changed? Why did Wilberforce's attention to the real practice of Christian faith, as opposed to the nominal Christianity of his day, lead to such revolutionary change?

Belmonte is credited by many for reviving current interest in Wilberforce and his campaign against slavery. Come to the Fahey-McLane First Floor Lounge at 6:30pm this Friday for dinner and for a time to hear from Kevin Belmonte.
