Greetings, friends!
For Theology on Tap tonight, we'll be discussing vocation.
From the Latin voco, vocare, "to call", vocation refers to what we colloquially call one's "calling" in life.
What does it meant to be "called" to a vocation, either secular or religious?
If we discover our "calling," are we obligated to follow it?
We all know people who choose a career that they might not otherwise, for monetary or other reasons.
Is this spiritually healthy? Unhealthy? Neutral?
What is the difference between a "career," a "job," and a "calling," or is there one?
Does your spirituality inform what you study or the career/job/calling you're anticipating?
Join us for free drinks, garlic fries, and a great discussion at 9pm at the Canoe Club. All are welcome--no exceptions! Bring friends!
Peace,
Ethan
