*Film* *Events** This **Week**:*

*Mon Apr 28, 6-7pm: **Dartmouth Film Society Meeting *(Wilson 205) The
Dartmouth Film Society is a student organization that meets once a week to
discuss the films playing at the Hopkins Center, debate important issues
(like whether *Ghostbusters *is the best film of all time), write program
notes, critique new movie trailers and vote on series proposals for future
terms. You don’t have to be an expert - you just have to have an opinion!

*Mon Apr 28, 7-8pm: Music Video Monday* (Digital Lab, Black Family Visual
Arts Center) Teams will compete to guess what the music video for a song
would (should?) be. Bring a team of friends! Pizza included.

*Tues Apr 29, 4-5:30pm:* *Arduinos Workshop *(Digital Lab, Black Family
Visual Arts Center) Arduinos are microcontrollers that make the creation of
interactive electronics and installations more accessible. Tom Stoll from
Digital Musics will give an introduction to what Arduinos are and how to
get started using them. Here are some examples of how Arduinos have been
used for audio-visual installation pieces:

Visual Arts Center)
*Fri May 2, 5:30pm: Dinner and Movie: Steve Chong Finds Out That Suicide is
a Bad Idea *(Haldeman 041) "A comedy about three friends that get stuck at
a remote lakehouse and must prevent their depressed friend Steve from
killing himself." Join the Pan Asian Wellness Initiative for a
screening of *Steve
Chong Finds Out That Suicide is a Bad Idea* with dinner catered by Yama.
Afterwards, there will be a video chat discussion with the filmmakers,
including Stanley Wong, an actor featured in *21 Jump Street*. Part of
Dartmouth's Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration in May.

*Fri May 2, 7pm: PRIDE Week Keynote: Laverne Cox *(Filene Auditorium, Moore
Hall) Actress and activist Laverne Cox ("Orange is the New Black") will
engage topics around body image and explore how gender policing affects
queer and trans communities, especially queer and trans people of color.
There will be a Q&A session and autograph signing after the speech.

learn about working with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Final
Cut Pro, and other photo/video editing software. Email

If you are trying to get an internship that requires school credit, talk to
career services. They have a work-around that involves enrolling in a local
college for a term and getting credit there.
