Some examples of organizations include:


Hip Hop Public Health in New York, NY:

Hip Hop Public Health (HHPH) works to advocate to bridge health literacy gap in inner-city, underprivileged populations in New York City through innovative methods of targeting 8-12 year olds via hip hop and multimedia tools.


International Rescue Committee (various locations):

The International Rescue Committee works to provide support to refugees, asylees, parolees, and immigrants as they rebuild their lives in a foreign community. Interns will work with refugees from across the globe, helping them through program coursework, teaching computer skills, and facilitation instruction in the classroom.


Renaissance Youth Center in Bronx, NY:

Renaissance is a nonprofit organization that provides, afterschool, summer camp, and music, dance, sports, and science classes to children and teenagers in the South Bronx, most of whom come from low-income families


Sustainable Food Center (various locations; one, The Happy Kitchen, is in Austin, TX):

The Sustainable Food Center aims to strengthen the local food system in Austin and increase access to nutritious and affordable food for the community. The Happy Kitchen specifically is a cooking and nutrition education program that teaches community members to prepare healthy meals with local, affordable and nutritious ingredients.
