You can read and write in any language in applications as far as you have a font covering the character set of that language.

Except that, up to OS X 10.5.x, WordRegister.app of Kotoeri (Apple's Japanese input method) did not work unless you have installed the Japanese language resource intentionally. Its English interface used to be defective. The same thing applies to many free applications created by my compatriots and some apps made in France.
