This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, November 2nd, 
2010.



A BLACK SKIMMER was seen on Hampton Beach on October 30th.



A CATTLE EGRET was reported from the fields at Runnymede Farm along Route 
111 in North Hampton, and 1 was reported from Hampton Marsh, both on 
November 1st.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen near Lake Waukewan in Meredith on November 1st.



2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were seen at the Moultonborough Airport on November 
1st, and one was seen in North Haverhill on October 29th.



A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was seen at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on 
October 31st, and an AMERICAN REDSTART was seen there on the 30th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen near Charcoal Road in Harrisville on October 
30th.



100 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen foraging in trees on Pleasant Street behind

Northway Bank in Berlin on November 2nd.



A PINE GROSBEAK and 7 EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported from Pittsfield on 
October 28th.



2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were reported from Pittsfield on October 29th.



A flock of 18 SNOW BUNTINGS was seen at Wallis Sands in Rye, and a flock of 
over 70 including a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was seen near Hampton Harbor on October 
30th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was near Great Boar's Head in North Hampton on October 
30th, 2 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS were seen at Ragged Neck in Rye on October 
31st, and a PURPLE SANDPIPER was seen on the coast on October 30th.



A NORTHERN SHOVELER and a BLUE-WINGED TEAL were seen at the Exeter 
Wastewater Treatment Plant on October 30th.



2 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 14 AMERICAN COOTS, and 1 PIED-BILLED GREBE were seen on 
Eel Pond in Rye on November 1st.



17 BRANT were seen migrating along the coast on October 30th.



120 BLACK SCOTERS, 6 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 32 
BUFFLEHEADS, 17 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 1 RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, and 2 
RED-NECKED GREBES were reported from Cherry Pond in the Pondicherry National 
Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on November 2nd.



A HORNED GREBE and 9 BLACK SCOTERS were reported from Turtle Pond in Concord 
on November 2nd.



115 RING-NECKED DUCKS were seen on Tolman Pond in Harrisville on October 
30th, and 48 were seen on Merrymeeting Marsh in Alton on November 1st.



118 NORTHERN GANNETS were seen along the coast on October 30th.



21 FOX SPARROWS were tallied at Warren Farm in Barrington on November 2nd.



6 GRAY JAYS were reported from the Mud Pond area of Pondicherry National 
Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on October 30th.



40 HORNED LARKS were seen in the fields behind the post office on Loudon 
Road in Concord on November 2nd.



20 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS were reported from a field in Swanzey on October 31st.



PINE SISKINS, and AMERICAN PIPITS were reported from several locations 
during the past week.



9 TURKEY VULTURES were seen in Exeter on October 31st.



RAPTOR migration observation is drawing to a close with over 10,700 raptors 
reported from the Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory in 
Peterborough since August 24th, including 8 GOLDEN EAGLES, 81 BALD EAGLES, 
and 53 PEREGRINE FALCONS. Observers also counted migrating raptors from the 
Carter Hill Raptor Observatory in Concord with about 5,000 reported since 
September 1st. Continuous observations have ceased for this fall season, but 
there are sure to be a few sporadic reports during the next few weeks.
