This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Friday, February 9th, 
2007.



An EARED GREBE has regularly been seen off of Seal Rocks in Rye since 
November, and was last reported on February 6th. Seal Rocks is located just 
north of Wallis Sands.



A female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was seen just north of Foss Beach in Rye, on 
February 2nd.



A BLACK-HEADED GULL, 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, a GLAUCOUS GULL, and 2 
ICELAND GULLS were seen at the Rochester Waste Water Treatment Plant on 
February 2nd. The treatment plant is gated and the hours of operation are 
7:30-3:00 on weekdays. If you visit, please check in at the office and be 
out of the plant by 2:45 so that plant personnel do not have to ask birders 
to leave. Do not drive on the dikes and do not block the road. The Trails at 
Pickering Ponds, located east of the plant, are not gated, and are always 
open during daylight hours.



3 RAZORBILLS and a BLACK GUILLEMOT were seen along the coast between Odiorne 
Point State Park and Pulpit Rocks in Rye on February 2nd.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE continues to be seen on Martin Road in Fremont, next to 
the cemetery, and was most recently reported on February 4th.



A flock of birds consisting of an estimated 500 HORNED LARKS, 200 SNOW 
BUNTINGS, 15 LAPLAND LONGSPURS and an AMERICAN PIPIT were reported in the 
first field north of the Cheshire County correctional facility on River Road 
in Westmoreland on February 4th.



A lone LAPLAND LONGSPUR, a SNOW BUNTING, and 26 HORNED LARKS were reported 
from Hampton Beach State Park on February 6th.



Moderate numbers of WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS continued to be reported from 
the White Mountains area during the past week.



2 NORTHERN PINTAIL, a WOOD DUCK, a RING-NECKED DUCK, an AMERICAN COOT, an 
AMERICAN PIPIT, a NORTHERN HARRIER, and a BELTED KINGFISHER were all seen at 
Lake Wantastiquet in Hinsdale on February 4th..



A NORTHERN FLICKER was seen in Newmarket on February 8th and 17 TURKEY 
VULTURES were seen in Newmarket on February 4th.



A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was seen in New Castle on February 4th.



2 FOX SPARROWS were seen in Deerfield on February 6th.



An EASTERN PHOEBE was reported from Merrimack on February 5th.



A GREAT CORMORANT was seen on the Merrimack River in Manchester on February 
6th.



5 BALD EAGLES were seen at a roost tree in Manchester on the February 7th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen atop the church on the corner of School and 
State Streets in Concord on February 7th.



There have been scattered reports of several RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS, 
CAROLINA WRENS, and EASTERN BLUEBIRDS during the past week.
