We've had no problems adding Audacity to our PC image. We're getting new
hardware this month, however, so we'll check it carefully.

Thanks for confirming the problem. But the G5s are not based on Intel
chips. In fact, after only one tweak to fix sound playback in a number of
applications, Audacity runs beautifully on our MacBook Pros, but we haven't
tried it on the Intel-based desktops. Maybe it's a desktop vs. laptop
issue?
Glad to know that everyone is hoping for a solution...
