In fact, after only one tweak to fix sound playback in a number of applications, Audacity runs beautifully on our MacBook Pros, but we haven't tried it on the Intel-based desktops. Maybe it's a desktop vs. laptop issue? Glad to know that everyone is hoping for a solution...
