Dear Colleagues,

It is pleasure that we announce the publication of the Winter volume of the
CALICO Review. There are five evaluations in the present issue, all
accessible of course from the CALICO Review website
(http://calico.org/CALICO_Review/index.htm) The first review, of Personal
Communicator, breaks new ground for CALICO in the area of American Sign
Language. The assessment of the Q Enhancement Series adds another review of
ESL for young learners. Those of you who are familiar with the Ni Hao
series for Chinese will certainly be interested in seeing how the
accompanying software program has fared. Lastly, French instructors in
search of materials for both beginning and more advanced students should
find the evaluation of French Bit by Bit-Le Passe and Lectures d'appoint of
interest.

As ever, special thanks go out to the CALICO reviewers without whose
dedication and expertise these evaluations would not be possible. Likewise,
we gratefully acknowledge the collaboration of the software producers in the
CALICO review process.

We welcome colleagues to join the ranks of the CALICO reviewers, which is
easily done by completing the Reviewers' Register form accessible from the
bottom of the page at the URL indicated above. Enjoy!
