Assistant Professor/Lecturer
Department of French
Dalhousie University
The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications for a
tenure stream appointment as Assistant Professor or Lecturer (commencing
July 1, 2004) in Applied Linguistics, with subspecialization or
demonstrable interest in Multimedia and/or Computer-Assisted Language
Learning. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Candidates
should have a Ph.D. in hand, preferably strong teaching experience and
background directly related to teaching responsibilities. The selected
candidate will be joining a department of French with solid programs in
linguistics, literature and cultural studies, and should thus have a clear

duties would include intermediate and advanced language classes. The
nature of the courses to be taught requires the candidate to be a native or
near-native speaker of French. The salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. The deadline for applications is October 15,
2003. Applications, including a C.V., three letters of recommendation to
be forwarded directly by the referee to the Department, teaching
evaluations, and any other relevant material, should be sent to:
Dr. Raymond Mopoho
Chairperson
Department of French
Dalhousie University
Halifax, NS B3H 4P9
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and
permanent residents will be given priority. Dalhousie University is an
Employment Equity/Affirmative Action employer. The University encourages
applications from qualified Aboriginal people, persons with a disability,
racially visible persons and women.
