Assistant Professor/Lecturer Department of French Dalhousie University The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications for a tenure stream appointment as Assistant Professor or Lecturer (commencing July 1, 2004) in Applied Linguistics, with subspecialization or demonstrable interest in Multimedia and/or Computer-Assisted Language Learning. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand, preferably strong teaching experience and background directly related to teaching responsibilities. The selected candidate will be joining a department of French with solid programs in linguistics, literature and cultural studies, and should thus have a clear and enthusiastic commitment to working in such a broad context. Teaching duties would include intermediate and advanced language classes. The nature of the courses to be taught requires the candidate to be a native or near-native speaker of French. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The deadline for applications is October 15, 2003.
