>Subject: "floating/onscreen keyboard"
------------------
I wonder if list members can help a colleague?
He's developing a web-based language course for Gaelic and Sami and is
looking for a "floating/onscreen keyboard" which he could put on the site to
insert the special characters from these languages when students are doing
writing exercises online.
He says there are plenty of download applications but his target users are
not necessarily computer literate enough and/or are using public access PCs
so are unable to install downloads. He therefore wants to offer them the
characters on the screen so they can just click on a character which will
insert itself next to the cursor when writing. He's looking ideally for a
Java applet or Java script.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Janet
