I had an Orchard Oriole this morning at the Richmond Conservation Land
in Orford. When I heard it, it didn't sound quite like a Baltimore Oriole,
which were also around and singing. I saw it clearly, got good looks at
it's chestnut, not orange undersides. Also present were three American
Pipits in the cornfield stubble. Some migrants were present here and around
town, I had a couple of Wilson's Warblers and a Bay-breasted Warbler. I am
leading a bird walk at 8:00 on Saturday at the Richmond Land for the Orford
libraries. The parking area is a mile north of Bridge Street and
Patterson's Store in Orford.
