During the previous three seasons, a male,  red-winged blackbird has appeared in mid-spring at our feeders, using them a a food source but nesting with his mate downhill in the cattail border of a neighbor's pond. Today, Tuesday, the 2nd, a male made a first of season appearance. Our returning, neighborhood red-winged?
Our fire pond now has a few cattails, maybe the couple will relocate. I'll be watching my neighbor's pond and my cattails to see how the situation plays out. A nesting red-winged blackbird pair would definitely be a home property first. Blake Allison
