I walked the River Trail in Hanover this afternoon. Highlights included a Solitary Sandpiper, two Greater Yellowlegs, and a Lesser Yellowlegs, all on mudflats in Mink Brook. A Red-necked Grebe, perhaps associated with today's waterbird fallout, was in the river at the mouth of Mink Brook, as were a pair of Gadwall, a pair of Buffleheads, and seven Common Goldeneye. Earlier this afternoon I saw five Buffleheads on Occom Pond in Hanover as well.
