Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 and again this afternoon around 1, I’ve seen a male ring-necked pheasant (noted as “Asia” in my Sibley guide) on the S side of Rte 113 in Thetford Center, just E of the Sawnee Bean turnoff. A striking sight against the grey and brown of the nearby fields and thickets. Seems sensible enough to watch the passing traffic rather than join it.
