Earlier today I walked the River Trail in Hanover and saw a nice mix of birds. The highlight came at the end of my walk, when I saw two brilliant male Blackburnian Warblers moving through the trees at the north end of the trail. Other highlights included my first Black-throated Green Warbler of the spring, an adult Common Loon and a pair of Buffleheads on the river, a Merlin heard calling and briefly seen near the wastewater treatment plant, an adult Bald Eagle sparring with an Osprey over the river, and two Spotted Sandpipers.
