I still have between 100 to close to 300 redpolls daily. Now added to
the mix are over 70 red wings and 10 juncos. In addition a few
goldfinches, tree sparrow, song sparrow, pair of cardinals, pair of
hairys, few grackles, brownheaded cowbirds, red (finally) and white
nuthatches, the usual chickadees and bluejays and a sharp shinned hawk
which I saw with a squirrel in its talons that it was unable to fly
with. No woodcock as of yet (usually have 3 peenting at once) and no
owl hooting (since the cannibalism) for the first time in many years.
And, alas, snow completely covering everything with more coming down
and the pond still completely socked in.
