Trove of Green Heron Nests Discovered<http://www.audubonaction.org/site/R?i=-7D-MXaXo8E9eWzYC01mwg>

Green Heron numbers have been dropping in recent years, and no one knows why. Now a trove of nests uncovered in a Louisiana marsh could help scientists solve the mystery. Audubon¡¦s Paul J. Rainey Wildlife Sanctuary ¡§could very well be a factory for Green Herons,¡¨ says Erik Johnson, Audubon Louisiana¡¦s director of bird conservation, whose team discovered 244 nests and banded 142 chicks there. Tongass in Trouble

Stop Old-Growth Logging in America¡¦s Rainforest <http://www.audubonaction.org/site/R?i=kTUTlriiqQXrspq9oc51QA>

Red-breasted Sapsuckers, Marbled Murrelets, and Queen Charlotte Goshawks in Alaska could soon see a huge swath of their habitat disappear. The U.S. Forest Service is considering a timber sale in the Tongass National Forest in Alaska that would pave the way to clear-cut an area the size of 4,600 football fields. Tell the forest service to end old-growth logging like this timber sale.
