Hey everyone,

I figured that birding might be pretty good with the on and off storms, so I headed down to Mink Brook Preserve this afternoon to see what I could find- luckily the rain held off for the most part. Most of the activity was in the denser forest rather than near the water. I saw mostly the same migrants as I had yesterday, except for a Broad-winged Hawk that flushed and a couple Black-throated Greens that took the place of yesterday's Black-throated Blues. The most interesting sighting though was an Evening Grosbeak that I heard calling as it flew overhead.

My best sighting though was not a bird, but a mammal. As I sat down to note what I was hearing I heard some movement and looked up, only to see my lifer Fisher!! It ran off as I got my camera, and I tried hiking after it, but it was no where to be found. Pretty awesome mammal though!

Cheers,
Kyle Kittelberger
