Here are photos of the  102 +/- Double-crested Cormorants seen on the
Connecticut River  today around 3:30 PM. We had very heavy rain, this was
the tail end of it when the skies were beginning to clear. They all took
off upstream after  20 minutes or so.

There was also a Peregrine Falcon apparently chasing another bird, possibly
also a Peregrine, and stealing it's prey. Photos here:

Any thoughts on the i.d. of the distant bird and it's lost prey?  There are
many Rock Doves around there...... The second bird has the long wings of
the  first bird....
