There was a cormorant perched on the corner of the swimming dock at Kennedy Pond in Windsor, late afternoon to sunset today. It allowed me to approach as close as the beach and did not startle when I left. I do not know how to identify different varieties of cormorant, so can't say, but this was a large bird.
