Ok... so there is no place like Cape Cod. The fun stuff is the aquatic
bird life. Freshwater and ocean.
I bird a barrier beach outside Hyannis. Corporation Beach in Dennis (inside
arm). And a bunch of coast Orleans and north to P-town.
This is 4+ days worth. Some wind, some offshore breezes, some rain, and
lots of sun and beach walking.
Freshwater:
4 Gadwall, 20+ Black Ducks, 12 Am. Widgeon, 2 GB Herons, 3 Am. Coot, 3 No.
Pintail, 4 Mute Swan, Ca. Geese.
Saltwater and beach/ shore:
11 Dunlin, 6 Gr. Yellowlegs, 25 Ruddy Turnstone, 5 BB Plovers, 1
Sanderling, 3 Belted Kingf., 7 Brant, 16 Ho Grebes, 1 RN Loon.
Corp Beach:
28 Long-t. Ducks, 60 Razorbill, 20 Bonaparte's Gull, 1 Forster's Tern, 3 RN
Grebes, 2 Horned Grebes, ~ 32 WW Scoters, ~24 Black Scoters, ~40 Surf
Scoters, 8 Co Loons, ~ 40 Co Eiders 20 No Gannets, 3 BB Plovers.
P-town etc, outer coast. Off shore breeze, 48 degrees, sunny.
16 Bufflehead, ~40 No Gannets, ~20 RT Loon, ~60 Surf Scoter, ~40 DC
Cormorant, 6 Great Cormorant, GBBGull, Herring, and Ring-bills, 2 Great
Shearwaters (1 ok picture thru scope), ~40 Black Scoters, ~60 Razorbills.
~600 RB Mergs,
~ 40 Bonaparte's Gulls, ~400 Co Eiders, 2 Palm Warblers.
MacMillan Wharf 10 Razorbills right off the wharf.
Song Sparrows, No Ca etc. 1 Red-tail.
Fun to travel.
