I kayaked the bay that lies between Montshire Museum and Foley Point
today at "low tide" due to the river being drawn down by Wilder Dam.
Fishing along the shore was a bittern, in the bushes by the railroad
arch was the orchard oriole, and overhead was an osprey hunting the
shallow waters of the bay. A lovely day for birds on the Connecticut
River around Foley Point.

Tomorrow night at Tracy Hall at 7 PM: "Where The Great River Rises",
slide show, presentations, and public discussion of the Connecticut
River and its impact on the Upper Valley. Come and learn more and add
your thoughts about preserving this precious resource.

Don McCabe
