A MISSISSIPPI KITE was seen from Gonet Drive in Newmarket on June 26th.
Birders on the coast reported a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, 15 BLACK SCOTERS, 12
COMMON LOONS, 93 WILSON'S STORM-PETRELS, 14 GREAT EGRETS, 25 SNOWY EGRETS, 2
GREEN HERONS, a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, 3 OSPREYS, a PIPING PLOVER, 17
WILLETS, 13 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 10 ROSEATE TERNS, 100 COMMON TERNS, and a
FISH CROW on June 29th
A few NELSON'S SPARROWS and SALTMARSH SPARROWS were reported from Philbrick
Marsh (sometimes called townline cove marsh) in North Hampton on June 26th.
A FISH CROW was reported from Laconia on June 28th.
An EVENING GROSBEAK was seen along Eaton Road in Swanzey on June 29th, and 2
were reported from Freedom on the 24th.
6 WHIP-POOR-WILLS, a COMMON NIGHTHAWK, and a VESPER SPARROW were all
reported from the Ossipee Pine Barrens on June 24th.
A pair of MERLINS nesting in Ashland appears to be feeding at least 1 chick.
A pair of nesting AMERICAN KESTRELS feeding chicks was reported from along
Route 113 in North Chatham on June 28th.
At least 10 BLACK-BILLED CUCKOOS were reported during the past week from
several locations, including Lisbon, Orford, Rumney, Freedom, Effingham,
Madison, Ashland, and Peterborough, and at least 5 YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS
were reported during the past week from several locations, including Conway,
Freedom, and Eaton.
A YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER was reported from Elbow Pond in Woodstock on
July 1st.
A Grassland Bird Survey conducted on restricted sections of the Lebanon
Airport on June 25th tallied 27 SAVANNAH SPARROWS, 7 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS,
and 5 BOBOLINKS.
An immature DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT was seen on Lily Lake in Piermont on
July 1st.
