Curious about that strange plant you saw while walking in the woods?
Wondering what bird is calling in your backyard? iNaturalist is an exciting
tool you can use to identify species and contribute observations to a
massive online database accessible to scientists around the world.
Nathaniel Sharp, VCE's Citizen Science Outreach Naturalist, will present an
introduction to the Vermont Atlas of Life on iNaturalist, from making an
account, to identifying unknown species using the site's AI algorithm. This
presentation will then be followed by an outdoor iNaturalist workshop where
you can test your newfound "iNat" skills - don't forget to bring your
smartphone or laptop!

A native of southeastern Pennsylvania and birder since the age of 9,
Nathaniel received a B.S. With Honors in Wildlife Biology from UVM in 2018,
and then spent the summer working for the 2nd Maine Breeding Bird Atlas
before joining us at VCE.

Please join us for Nathaniel's presentation on Wed., Oct. 24 for this brown
bag presentation and workshop.which promises to be informative and
stimulating. Bring your lunch, and enjoy drinks and cookies with the VCE
staff. We'll start promptly at 12:15.
