On Saturday March 19, 2016, from 8 to 11 AM, Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon is holding a bird walk, to be led by George Clark and others, to look for migratory waterbirds and other birds along the Connecticut River and nearby. This bird walk is free and open to the public. We’ll start by birding around Ledyard Bridge and then carpool northward visiting Norwich sites along and near the Connecticut River. Participants should bring binoculars and scopes if available. Dress warmly. Walking over fairly level terrain might extend as much as a mile. In an unfortunate case of hazardous road conditions or steady and heavy rain, this bird walk will not be held.
Road Instructions: We strongly encourage carpooling because of very limited parking space in certain sites to be visited. Our initial meeting will be at 8:00 AM in the commuter parking lot off River Road in Norwich, VT.
If coming from Hanover, cross the Ledyard Bridge into Norwich, VT, then take an immediate right turn onto River Road, and then an immediate left turn into the unpaved commuter parking lot.
If coming from Vermont, take Exit 13 off I-91 and turn towards Hanover. When approaching the Ledyard Bridge, pull into the left turn lane, and at the traffic signal turn left onto River Road in Norwich. Then take an immediate left turn into the unpaved commuter parking lot.
