If you’ve already registered, you’re great and sorry to clog your inbox, but the deadline to register with our team for the Season Opener is this Friday, March 31st!!! If you register after that date, we can’t guarantee that you’ll have a spot in one of the vans because we need to reserve those as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any questions, and can’t wait to see you all at practice on Thursday (6:30 in Manley 88)!!!

sbr,
Katie and Valentina

HEY TRI TEAM!
Spring is coming, and you know what that means… triathlon race season! It’s time to register for our first race of the spring!!! As we have in past years, we will be going to the NE Season Opener Du Tri on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 9:00 am in Hopkinton, Massachusetts!
THE DETAILS:
How long is this thing? The Season Opener is a sprint distance triathlon (0.25-mile swim, 10-mile bike, and 3.1-mile run). There is also a duathlon (run, bike, run) and a relay option. The race itself won’t take more than two hours, and most people finish between 60-90 minutes.
Is it a team race? Yes! It’s part of the Northeast Collegiate Triathlon Conference (NECTC), which means that we will be racing as a team against other colleges. You can even qualify for Nationals!
How much does it cost? The race cost is $87.00 plus a $4.79 sign-up fee. You will also have to purchase a USAT membership (one day pass costs $15, unlimited annual pass costs $50). That being said, the team plans to subsidize the race, so all active members will get $40 back after racing. See attached doc for more info!
What does the team provide? In addition to the race subsidy, the team will provide transportation to and from the race, housing (thank you to the Isaacson family!), and food. If you need gear (bike, wetsuit, etc.), blitz us and we can help you figure out how to get it for the race.
When do I need to register by? To be eligible to get a subsidy and have guaranteed transportation, you must register by March 31st.
Where do I register? Read the attached document and all will be revealed!
Once you have registered, please add your name to this google doc and email me a copy of your confirmation: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dYGBKVUQ0Jxmb5c17IH0dL5ADiTPwJKOyb_ZqhH4qWg/edit?usp=sharing
*** PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT FULLY BEFORE YOU REGISTER! YES, IT’S LONG BUT IT HAS A LOT OF IMPORTANT INFO!!! ***
We will have a meeting early in the spring term to go over logistics in more detail, so keep an eye out for a blitz about that. We had SO much fun at the race last year and we’re hoping everyone can come! If you have questions, blitz [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>!
See you all soon!
Katie, Valentina, Abiah, and Brandt
