Hi Ruckus!

We are so fortunate to host the monastics of Plum Village today for two events focused on mindfulness and climate action. Please join us for what will be an incredible dharma talk this afternoon at 4:30pm, followed by a very special walking meditation through the ECSC heating and cooling infrastructure.

Falling in Love with Mother Earth: Engaged Mindfulness for a Creative and Spiritual Response to the Climate Crisis.<https://dartmouthplumvillage.my.canva.site/>

In this talk, Sister Đẳng Nghiêm will speak about how we can use mindfulness to take care of our strong emotions while contributing creatively to reduce suffering. Sister Dang Nghiem is a Buddhist Nun in the Plum Village Tradition of scholar, poet, peace activist, and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.

The talk will take place Thursday, April 25, 4:30-5:30 pm in Spanos Auditorium (Cummings Hall, Room 100) at the Thayer School of Engineering.

Walking Meditation led by Br. Pháp Lưu<https://dartgo.org/plum-village>

The talk will be following by a walking meditation with the community through the mechanical systems of the ECSC to expand our awareness of the interdependence, interactions, and interbeing of technology and the natural world. The route is wheelchair accessible.

The walk will be Thursday, April 25 from 5:45 p.m. — 6:15 p.m. and will meet in the Courtyard of the Engineering and Computer Science Center (ECSC).

Warmly,

Rachel
