Open Data for Researchers - Tools and Services to Support Research and Grant Processes
Please join us for the Open Data II workshop for librarians and grant managers on Tuesday, September 1st, 9:30-10:30 am in DCAL. This session will be focused on funder requirements and tools and services to support public access to data.
Public access to data is becoming increasingly important due to collaborative research environments and funder requirements. But how do researchers develop fundable data management plans, ensure their data can be cited, and make it publicly accessible? Within the context of the data sharing requirements from funding agencies, learn about tools that enhance the public access components of grant proposals and research. In this workshop, we will focus on the DMPTool, EZID DOIs for datasets, and data storage services.
Featured guest for the discussion on data management plans will be Rachel Obbard, Professor of Engineering. The session will provide information on useful tools & discuss outreach and the emerging services that the library provides for data management.

* DMPTool<https://dmptool.org/>, customized for Dartmouth, helps you easily create, review, and share data management plans that meet institutional and funder requirements.
* EZID<http://ezid.cdlib.org/home/why> service helps you easily create long-term identifiers so your datasets can be cited and correctly attributed when they are used by other researchers.
