RE:    Whistleblower Protection for Dartmouth Employees

Dartmouth College is committed to an environment where all Dartmouth community members are encouraged to report any suspected violations of law or Dartmouth policy without fear of retaliation.

As described on the Risk and Internal Controls website, Dartmouth has contracted with an independent third party (EthicsPoint) to serve as the point of intake for receiving complaints and concerns. This service supplements existing offices on campus that help register such concerns, including such issues as academic and research misconduct, child abuse, financial misconduct, sexual assault or abuse, or confidentiality concerns.  Information concerning Ethicspoint can be found on the Dartmouth RICS website here<http://www.dartmouth.edu/~rmi/>.

In addition, in 2013 the federal government enacted a pilot program, effective until January 1, 2017, regarding protections for employees against reprisal for certain whistleblowing activities in connection with federal grants and contracts.
