Okay, so I'm a bit slow. I just realized I could turn this stuff off 
in System prefs. Of course I could! I've just never looked at that 
pref because I don't use the trackpad! Oh dear!!! So I've done it. 
I'm glad to have had the opportunity to entertain everyone who was 
ROFLing so hard they couldn't reach the keyboard to tell me what an 
idiot I am!  :D
