It seems to have a way, but indeed a bit less than obvious.

It find that in powerFind, if you enter "any text" in the find field,
then with it selected choose from the Format menu "Any Attributes"
then after that, apply "italic" it will then find the italicized  
words or parts of words.
you could of course choose any word if that were the intent.)

You could also use the replace to put in the designators and the  
"Found" text to save a lot of tedium, as you could merely click once  
for each occurrence.
