Dear Hamid,

Sorry if my description wasn't lucid enough.

Suppose I want to make an index of scholars quoted in my manuscript. There
are lots of such names mentioned in footnotes as well as in the body of the
text.

To make an index, you first select names and mark them for indexation. I
want to include John Paul in the index. So I go to Find and Replace, and
type in the Find box "John Paul" and click "Find All". Then all the
instances of John Paul, including those in footnotes, get highlighted. So I
go to Tools > Index, and click <Index>. But somehow with the version 2 the
instances of John Paul in the footnotes don't get indexed. I put the cursor
somewhere inside the file, and click <Insert Index>, but there are fewer
page numbers for John Paul than there should be. I'm puzzled.

Takamitsu
