I'm not sure but try to create a new folder, open it in Finder, switch to List view, Show View options and, if you can check 'Version', check it and click 'Use as Defaults'.
If this does not work, download Secrets PrefPane from
<http://secrets.blacktree.com/>
In its Finder tab, you will find 'Show version column in search results'. Enable it and relaunch Finder.
