Dear Ms. Berger,

I hope this e-mail finds you well. I am a colleague of Jacqueline at Washington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in D.C., and I am writing to inform you of a medical assistant job opportunity at our practice. As I depart for PA school this spring, the practice will have an opening for a medical assistant. The surgeon I work for, Dr. Jonas Rudzki, has asked that I reach out to universities and see if any 2017 grads would be looking for a hands-on medical assistant job in the D.C. area. Would you mind sharing this e-mail, with pre-health students at Dartmouth?

Timeline:

We are looking to interview someone in January 2018.

The position would start early-to-mid February 2018.

There will be 4-6 weeks of overlap training, and then I leave the practice on March 15th.

There will be more jobs available in late Spring, as well, but currently, we are looking to fill a position in February 2018.

What we're looking for:

  * someone hard-working, dedicated, and reliable
  * someone interested in going into medical school, PA school or PT school
  * someone with some clinical experience or science-based course work background
  * someone with great communication skills
  * someone looking for a 2 year commitment
About the job:

  * orthopedic surgery and sports medicine practice: treating competitive athletes in the DC area
  * hands-on patient care: casts, bandages, suture & staple removal (on the job training)
  * bringing patients to exam rooms, taking patient history
  * scheduling and pre-authorizing surgery (on the job training)
  * working one-on-one with the orthopedic surgeon on a daily basis: Dr. Jonas Rudzki

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! I have personally had a great time working for Washington Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. JR Rudzki is a fantastic surgeon and a great mentor, and this experience has truly set me up for success as a PA. Not to mention, D.C. is a great city to be in post-graduation.

Sincerely,

Rachel Solomon
