Crafting a Memorable Essay with Joni Cole, Author and Founder of The Writing Center
A personal essay as part of any application process needs to be more than well written. It needs to capture you--your authenticity, your passion, your humanity. In short, it needs to make you stand out in a positive way among all the other equally sincere candidates. This three-week writing workshop will help you discover and develop a personal essay that does just that. Come ready to write in class. You’ll also be asked to share aloud early drafts and revisions with your fellow writers for focused feedback. Discussions will incorporate instruction on narrative techniques and "tricks" of craft to achieve essays with maximum memorability and emotional impact. Expect to complete the three-week session with an application-ready essay.
