Interesting development.

I used this script two years ago to process data.

I'm trying to use it again and NOW wherever I attempt to pull a  
string from out of another string using...

set thisString to (characters x through y of thatString) as string

thisString has got a tab showing up after every character in the  
extracted string.

What's going on?
