Phil,

Thanks for passing along the AppleScript Studio posting. At least I'm not
alone and I won't spend hours trying to troubleshoot this. I may have even
ended up doing an "Archive and Install" of the OS or some other major
undertaking.

I'll try your suggested code and Perl is looking pretty good too.

Thanks for your input it'll save me a lot of headaches and time.
