Sanako Pronounce announcement

Dear Language Educators,

We are excited to announce the release of the latest addition to Sanako’s product portfolio, Sanako Pronounce. Sanako Pronounce combines textual language learning resources with the latest in text-to-speech and speech recognition technology into an exciting solution for pronunciation and speech practice. http://www.sanako.com/products/pronounce/

What is Sanako Pronounce?
Pronounce allows you to use any written material, documents or online texts and turn them into audio exercises for listening and speaking practice. The imported text material is automatically divided into sentences. You can then listen to a model reading of the sentence by a text-to-speech voice and make your own recording. The system analyzes your speech and gives you a score and visual analysis of your pronunciation.

Text-to-speech voices
Sanako Pronounce may be used with the default text-to-speech voices in the Windows operating system. However, for best experience we recommend employing the high-quality voices offered by Sanako. Sanako voices have been developed by IVONA.

How does Sanako Pronounce differ from other similar products
- Flexibility
o You can paste any text materials into Sanako Pronounce and get text-to-speech audio (provided you have the appropriate language installed)
o Sanako Pronounce can create audio materials using any voice/language you have installed on the machine
o Teachers can quickly and easily create ready-made word lists or sentences for students to practice with

- Speech recognition
o Students can use Sanako Pronounce playback to individually assess their progress versus the original, or utilise the built in speech recognition engine
o Sanako Pronounce can offer a score based on speech input, or simply offer suggestions of where speech can be improved by identifying the phonemes which have been mispronounced
