Subject: Alternative(s) to Wimba?

Hello everyone,

Our university is currently looking for an alternative to WIMBA, a audio discussion board, that is:

- a web-based application so students can access it from home

- other than java based (endless security restrictions messages on campus and the constant java update confuse the students)

- an application that will save students’ recordings on an online repository (webserver? instead of sending emails to the teachers) that teachers can access online for marking

- possibly integrated into Blackboard.

Voxopop appears to be a good alternative but the lecturer reports that the UI doesn’t appear as simple as . We have also briefly looked at poodll but we are not using this Moodle.

Maybe ReLAN pro?

Thank you very much for your help!

Kind regards

Edith Paillat
