Hi Deanne,
When I received the e-mail from BYU, I immediately sent a series of
questions to the 3rd party vendor. Within perhaps an hour I received a
request to send a phone number so that one of their representatives could
contact me. I was at a meeting and didn't immediately respond, so I
received a very complete written response to my questions. In other words,
I have not experienced any trouble getting in touch with the vendor.
The problem for me is not the huge increase--which doesn't seem that
unreasonable if the service is reliable--but the timing. We submitted FY14
budget requests two weeks ago, and I don't know that I'll be able to amend
the request to accomodate this new pricing. We will also have to change
some procedures to limit the number of tests we use, since we've allowed
unlimited access to the Spanish tests for the last 18 months.
I would like to see some options developed, but I see few for the near term.
Best,
Sharon
