Hello,
What make/model of headsets (with mic!) are used in your facilities?
What's the lifetime of a typical headset? And/or do you have
recommendations of something different?
We are having problems with headsets breaking at an alarming rate.
Instead of replacing them, I'd like to get a different more durable type
of headset (preferably wireless), and perhaps find a way to store them
that helps keep them functional.
Right now, we have wired headsets purchased by a predecessor. They work
fine, except that students wrap (or strangle) the headsets with the
attached cord, bending all the little connecting places of the cord such
that the headset stops working. (Or stops working reliably, or the mic
won't work though the headset does, etc.) We provide a one-gallon
ziplock bag (and instructions) to encourage students not to wrap the
thing up, rather throw it spaghetti-like loosely in the bag, but no
dice. Strangle they will.
Also, how do you store your headsets? Ours are kept in their one-gallon
ziplocks together in a large totebag - which is probably part of the
problem. We're thinking about some sort of towel rack or bar-type-thing
to hang the headset over, and keep the wireless USB connectors
separately. What do you do/recommend?
thank you
