| The 3rd Online Chinese Teaching Forum & Workshop New Trends in Online Chinese Teaching

   Oct. 27-28, 2017  East Lansing, Michigan With the success of the first and the second Online Chinese Teaching Forum & Workshop (OCTFW) in 2015 and 2016, the Confucius Institute at Michigan State University (CI-MSU) is pleased to announce that the third OCTFW will be held at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, on October 27 (Friday) & 28 (Saturday), 2017, which aims at continually promoting collaboration among educators in K-16 online Chinese teaching and learning field. The theme of the Forum & Workshop is New Trends in Online Chinese Teaching. Dr. Jun Da at Middle Tennessee State University and Dr. Shijuan Liu at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will provide keynote speechesTopics include but are not limited to:·  New Trends in online Chinese teaching·  New Trends in online Chinese pedagogy·  New Trends in online Chinese teacher professional development·  Online Chinese teaching modes·  Online Chinese teaching platform design·  The integration of technology in online Chinese instruction·  Grammar, vocabulary, and Chinese character teaching in online environment·  Online Chinese culture teaching·  Activity design in online Chinese courses·  Technology tools in online Chinese courses·  Digital resources development·  Formative and summative assessments in online setting·  Online Chinese teacher preparation and professional developmentSubmission DeadlineYou are cordially invited to submit a proposal for an In-person Presentation or a Virtual Presentation.·  Proposal Submission Deadline: 11:59 p.m. 9/10/2017, Eastern Standard Time·  Acceptance Notification (Invitation Letter): 9/18/2017All proposals will undergo peer review by OCTFW Proposal Review Committee.Submission Guidelines1. Forum proposal·  Submit a proposal (maximum 350 words) in English or Chinese for a 30- minute presentation via the submission link in the page.·  Each person may submit only ONE proposal.·  In your proposal, please explain the purpose of the presentation, what will be demonstrated, how the presentation will be organized and delivered, and what outcomes will be expected after attending the presentation.·  Once the proposal is accepted, each participant must submit a paid registration.2. Workshop proposal·  Submit a proposal (maximum 350 words) in English for a one-hour workshop via the submission link in the page.·  The workshop proposal should include the objective of the workshop, the target audience skill level, the general description of the workshop, an organization outline of the interactions and the intended outcomes.·  Once the proposal is accepted, each participant must submit a paid registration.  Submit your proposal
